Our cacao suppliers work with local communities in the Amazonian Basin, where cacao has been cultivated for its delicious taste and its nutritional benefits for thousands of years. 

Committed to preserving the biodiversity in the Amazon jungle, our suppliers constantly research innovative farming methods and share these with the local growers. This helps to maintain or even improve the renowned Amazonian cacao quality with minimal environmental impact.  


How are cacao nibs obtained?  

Mature cacao pods are cut open and the seeds and pulp scooped out. They go through a thorough process of fermentation, at the end of which the cacao beans are left to dry naturally in the sun’s rays for a week. Dry beans are stored and transported with their skin on, which protects them from external contaminants. On arrival at the collection centre, the beans are carefully cleaned and only the best quality beans are selected. Then, the beans go through magnets to remove even the tiniest impurities. They are roasted, winnowed to remove the husks and broken into small, deliciously crunchy cacao nibs. 


How do we create our delicious Nibs sweetened with Yacon Syrup? 

Gently roasted, our Yacon coated Cacao Nibs develop an intense chocolate flavour, which we further complemented with a cover of rich cacao paste and Yacon Syrup, an unrefined sweetener extracted from the yacon plant which was revered by Ancient Incan civilisations for its energy-yielding properties.
