Super-Mushroom Hot chocolate

This creamy super-charged hot chocolate recipe is perfect to help induce calm, relaxation and sleep – enjoy it as comforting treat to unwind in the evenings or enjoy over ice as a refreshing and rejuvenating iced milkshake on hot sunny days. It also makes the perfect morning pick-me-up with health perks and its energising benefits.

When adding medicinal mushrooms to things like hot chocolate, you’re simply reaping the benefits of the various kinds of mushrooms on top of the antioxidants in cacao. And the cool thing is you really can’t taste the mushrooms! Their earthiness pairs nicely with chocolate flavours.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp (5g) Naturya Mushroom Superblend
  • 1 tsp Agave Syrup (plus more to taste)
  • 1 tsp almond butter (or other nut / seed butter)
  • 2 tbsp (12g) Naturya Cacao Powder
  • 1 large pinch ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • 240ml plant-based milk (such as oat, cashew, coconut, or almond milk)

Method

  • Add Mushroom Superblend, maple syrup, almond butter, Cacao powder, cinnamon, and sea salt to a small blender.
  • Steam or heat dairy-free milk until hot and add to the blender. Blend on high for 30 seconds to 1 minute, or until frothy and well blended.
  • Taste and adjust flavour as needed, adding cinnamon for warmth / spice, more sweetener to taste, or more cacao for rich chocolate flavour.
  • Serve as is, or top with cinnamon, Cacao powder/Cacao nibs/Rose petals.
